The main reason I decided to start this agency is because of the tough experience I went through in 2018 when my beloved husband was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.

It was a shocking news to the entire family as Robert was a very healthy man, who enjoyed to run marathons, triathlons, join the Ironman event, swimming, and earn a bunch of awards through his LIFETIME. He was a retired lieutenant from the Navy and continued to work at John Hopkins. He also applied to a physics lab as an electrical engineer. He loved science and was a volunteer in teaching Robotic and Python programs at Wilde Lake High School in Howard County.

We were a happy family with our daughter who at the time was 5 and a half years old. We were married for 8 beautiful years and enjoyed each day with smiles and laughter.

We went through the cancer treatment but nothing worked on my husband’s body as the doctor was telling us that his cancer cell was mutating so rapidly.

Every time I took my husband for his chemotherapy treatment, I saw people who were coming alone, with no help, pushing their walkers, trying to take day by day to fight for their lives, and that broke my heart. I knew I have to do something for these people, but at a time I was going through the same with my husband and I was helpless to them.

My husband died after 9 months of his diagnosis, he passed away 3 days before our daughter’s 6 years birthday. Poor us now, we were left as an empty nest. I will never forget that day when I had to watch the cardiac monitor and his heart rate drop from 100 to 0 within 3 minutes.

The last thing he told me was, honey you will be ok, and this was his saying all the time I tried to encourage him to eat and do something. He saw the worry I had and he kept encouraging me. My daughter became the strongest backbone for me. She is young but she reads my mind all the time, and when she feels that I’m sad, she will tell me “mommy thinks that Dad is in Alaska” but he can’t come back. I’m trying to be strong for her every day.
